My work has won numerous awards and has been exhibited internationally in juried shows including San Francisco Center for the Book, City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit in New York City, and MEWO Kunsthalle in Memmingen, Germany. My “A to Zoo” animal alphabet has been featured in the prestigious U&lc typography journal and on materials for Pratt Institute as well as the Los Angeles Zoo Association’s annual fund raising event, the “Beastly Ball.” I gifted an original watercolor piece to Jimmy and Gloria Stewart who were long-time supporters of GLAZA.
You can find my work at local art shows and in retail stores throughout the US, in addition to online. My "A to Zoo" greeting cards have sold at American Apparel’s online store and my “Art of the State” USA map has been licensed and produced on ceramic products for sale at HomeGoods stores. I have recently designed and written a children’s counting book titled A2Zoo by the Numbers. I plan to publish another book featuring the 12 astrology signs from my "What's Your Sign?" collection. Look for my newest alphabet design—“AtoZ Cactus”—in summer 2020.
I taught graphic design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and typography at Woodbury University in Burbank, California. I'm a member of the Angeles Crest Art Guild in Los Angeles, and the Art Gallery Committee at Saint Philip’s in the Hills in Tucson. I also love to play music on the oboe and flute, though not both at the same time :-)
I earned my bachelor of fine arts in communications design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York in 1981.
